Pastor Wayne Shevey & Family

Apostles’ pastor is Wayne Shevey. Upon receiving a Master of Divinity degree from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary in Mequon, Wisconsin, he was assigned to begin a congregation in southwest St. Charles County in May of 1999.

Pastor Wayne held several jobs during his school training: driving dump trucks, assembling pre-fabricated display tables, working on deck in a shipping department, and officiating sports. He still officiates football and basketball for fun, and enjoys watching any kind of sports of all level and playing a few (although admittedly, “not so well!”).

Pastor Wayne and his wife, Julie, met in high school. They dated throughout college as she studied to be a Lutheran elementary school teacher. They were married in June of 1995. They have three daughters, Morgan (12), Kaylyn (10) and Marisa (7) and a son, Elijah (5). Julie is a busy mom who enjoys volleyball, running and crafts. She does in-home decorative rubber stamp demonstrations for Stampin’ Up!, and serves as a substitute teacher it the Francis Howell School District. Julie wears many hats at Apostles, including playing keyboard for worship, teaching Sunday School, and leading the Parent/Child Power Hour program.

I also want all people to understand their need for a personal Savior and how God provided his Son, Jesus, to bring us full and free forgiveness for all through his death on the cross. Christ’s resurrection now provides true peace, joy and comfort in a world of uncertainty. My family is here to share this message with you!”
