Bible Studies and Fellowship

Christian Education Month

The health of a congregation is often linked to the number of people who are growing spiritually through studying the Bible. At Apostles, students of all ages have opportunities to be nurtured in their faith as the Holy Spirit works through God’s Word.  Our full slate of Bible studies begins in September. If you have questions about any of the Bible-based offerings, contact Pastor. Please find a place (or more than one) where your faith can be strengthened in your Savior, Jesus! Besides the studies listed on the next page, please keep the following in mind:

  • Sunday School is open to member and non-member children between the age of 3 and those entering fifth grade. A new year of lessons begins September 12. Sunday School is totally free and friends are welcome! Classes begin at 9 AM.
  • Hot Topics are held during the regular Bible Hour at 9 AM on the first Sunday of the month; the next one is October 3
  • Pastor Shevey conducts personalized Bible Information Classes (BIC) that teach Bible basics to adults and high school teens. If you or anyone you know is interested, Pastor will accommodate any schedule by meeting you at church or in your home.

Sunday Bible Hour

During our Teen/Adult Bible Hour this summer we followed the same lessons as our Sunday School children in the Christ- Light curriculum. The last two lessons are “Paul Encourages Timothy” on August 29 and “An Angel Delivers Peter from Prison” on September 5. There will be no Hot Topic for September because of the holiday. On September 12, we will have a special Anniversary Reflections Bible study in conjunction with our 10th Anniversary. Beginning on September 19, we will embark on a verse-by-verse study of the Gospel of John, which will reveal Jesus as the Word in the flesh for our salvation. If Bible study has not been a part of your walk with God, please consider starting now and grow in his grace each week!

Midweek Bible study

The fall session of Midweek Bible Study begins Wednesday, September 8 with the theme “The Ideal Congregation.” People gather every week in assemblies to worship the one true God. They come together to receive blessings and encouragement, but there is no congregation that is in perfect harmony. This study will lead us into God’s Word to see what he has to say to congregations so they can maximize their potential

This eleven-week course will meet on Wednesdays through November 17 from 7–8:30 PM with time for fellowship. If you need childcare in order to attend or want more details, please speak to Pastor Shevey. Please join us for this time of spiritual growth and better understanding of the beautiful Gospel message!!
